Just what is Family Ministry?
At Joyful Spirit we recognize that each family comes with
their own understanding of the role that the church, the
community and the family should play in the spiritual development
of their children.
It is our goal to help families with
their different stages of their life and
places in their spiritual journey, to be
a community who rejoices with the
families and who supports families
during struggles. We also want to help
children to know God for all that He is
— a God of unconditional love, a God
of grace, a God of hope, and a God of
justice of righteousness.
So, we have programs and classes,
small groups and take home projects
to help families grow together, to study God’s word with
their peers and with their families, to do as God instructed
us to do in Deuteronomy 6:5-7:
“And you must love the Lord your God with all
your heart, all your soul and all your strength.
And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly
to these commands that I am giving you today.
Repeat them again and again to your children.
Talk about them when you are at home and
when you are away on a journey, when you are
lying down and when you are getting up again."
We hope that you and your family will join us and make
Joyful Spirit a part of your families’ faith journey.
Our Programs
The nursery is not a place
to watch from afar! These trained
volunteers know the love and affection
that the infants and toddlers
need and with just a touch of a
Faith Lesson, through snacks and
art projects, your toddler leaves with
more than a block tower that they
built– they leave with Bible stories
being placed in their hearts. Nursery
is available every Sunday.
Faith Village Sunday School is available during
the 10:30 service for children
preschool through 5th grade. On the 1st and 3rd Sundays of
each month, children will begin in worship and will head to Faith Village after the Children's Message. On the other Sundays children will begin in Faith Village, and rejoin worship after the sermon.
Once your child begins preschool,
the Sunday School lessons begin to
show the big picture of God. The
lessons contain the scripture the
adults are hearing in worship, giving
parents the opportunity to share the
story with their children.
For children in kindergarten
through 5th grade, their lessons
reach out to them at their level to let
them hear God’s word and learn to
apply it to their daily lives, and to
form friendships with other children
at Joyful Spirit while growing their
faith.
We also have programs for children
and youth outside of the worship
time. Kidz Club meets once a
month and invites children from
grades 1st through 5th to join in the
fun of projects, fellowship, Bible
study and other creative fun.
Middle School and High School
Youth Groups meet twice a month
and provide youth the opportunity to
learn about their faith in a supportive,
fun environment, with plenty of
events throughout the year to keep
the youth coming back for more!
